Sandy Bowers

Sandy has been a volunteer with B.O.N.E.S. since 2010 and has fostered four B.O.N.E.S. beagles since 2012. Having grown up on a large family farm in north Georgia, beagles, fox hounds and retrievers are in her blood. The family has supported many rescued animals over the years, adopting from BREW and Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue. She has served in many volunteer organizations and held various board positions. Sandy is a fine arts conservator specializing in textiles and ethnographic materials and has worked with many museums and private collectors in the past 30 years. In addition, she is a painter and landscape photographer. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and sailing. Sandy shares a home with her husband Chuck and three beagles: her own dogs Henry and Shamrock and current B.O.N.E.S. foster, Maja. They live in Holden, Massachusetts.

Elizabeth (Ibby) Nathans

Elizabeth has been a volunteer with B.O.N.E.S. since 2005 and most recently has been involved in the adoption area. She is held in high regard by everyone on the adoption team and has a flair for making great matches and following up to make sure all is well. Ibby has much to bring to the Board. As a Dean at Harvard University and Boston College she has been involved in, among other things, team building and development of start-up programs. She has also been involved in rescuing animals since the late 1960's and has the desire to help B.O.N.E.S. continue to grow and become a strong organization for the beagles that need our help.

Clay Odell

Clay has been involved with B.O.N.E.S. as a volunteer for two years, and is the dad to two B.O.N.E.S. alumni, Snoopy and Herbie. Clay has been a paramedic for 28 years, recently serving as Chief of the New Hampshire Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, and is currently working for Global Rescue, a worldwide medical evacuation company. He also has a background in business management and is a registered nurse. He and his partner Ann are crazy beagle lovers who live in Lebanon, NH.

Sharon Vartanian

Sharon joined B.O.N.E.S. in 2005 after adopting her first beagle, Ms. Lucy. She has been involved with various non-profit organization for over 40 years with her focus primarily on animal rescues. With a background in business, management and staff development, Sharon brings a business focus to the organization. Sharon joined the Board in 2009 and has held the position of Treasurer since then, working closely with her team, other members of the Board and our directors to ensure that B.O.N.E.S. is financially sound and in compliance as a MA and Federal non-profit. In addition, Sharon helps with transports and serves on various committees. Sharon lives in N.H. with her significant other Jack and dogs, Jimmy, Scout and Frankie - all former B.O.N.E.S. rescues.
