Joy Bunkowske

Joy has been involved with rescue for over ten years and was one of the 5 co-founders of B.O.N.E.S. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors of the Boothbay Region Humane Society (ME) and held the positions of Adoption Counselor, Foster Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator for BREW NE (Beagle Rescue Education and Welfare - New England). Joy and her husband Larry, and their two beagles Minnie and Wyle, live in Maine.

Marsha Cook

Marsha is the newest member of the board. She helps on transports, is a foster home, is the Web Content Manager, an adoption counselor and served as the Adoption Director several years ago. Marsha brings a strong professional background to the board having been in the business arena for her working career. She also has a strong background in marketing and most importantly, she is passionate about beagles! She lives in Massachusetts with her dogs Rudy and Jake.

Jeanne Lemner

Jeanne is currently the B.O.N.E.S. Adoption Director, Outreach Coordinator for Vermont, and assists in covering the B.O.N.E.S. phone lines. Jeanne has 11 years experience with animal rescue and sheltersand has served as past Board President of the Addison County Humane Society. She continues to volunteer locally, assisting the ACHS with various community projects. Jeanne lives in Vermont with her husband Kenny, 3 rescue beagles: Mabel, Woodro and Tessa and 2 rescue cats: Oscar and Emmy.

Elizabeth (Ibby) Nathans

Elizabeth has been a volunteer with B.O.N.E.S. since 2005 and most recently has been involved in the adoption area. She is held in high regard by everyone on the adoption team and has a flair for making great matches and following up to make sure all is well. Ibby has much to bring to the Board. As a Dean at Harvard University and Boston College she has been involved in, among other things, team building and development of start-up programs. She has also been involved in rescuing animals since the late 1960's and has the desire to help B.O.N.E.S. continue to grow and become a strong organization for the beagles that need our help.

Sharon Vartanian

Sharon is currently the B.O.N.E.S. NH Outreach Coordinator and the Paper Supply Coordinator as well as a foster home. She has volunteered for and served on various Boards, including the House Rabbit Society, The Educational Farm, local CT shelters and, until recently, was a member of WAG in NH. She has also been on the Student Advisory Board for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Willimantic, CT. Sharon also actively volunteers for the NH and MA Special Olympics. Sharon lives in NH with her dogs Jimmy and Buddy.
