Hudson, the Semi-Beagle Hudson was rescued by B.O.N.E.S. from a bad situation in Limington, ME. After the gentleman called 911 (and subsequently passed away), the local ACO found 20 dogs living in squalid conditions. B.O.N.E.S. took most of them and found them new homes. Overall, Hudson was in very good shape but when he had his physical, they found a serious mast cell tumor in his nose. As much as possible was removed. B.O.N.E.S. wanted to find a wonderful home for Hudson and we did. John is a long-haul trucker that had lost his beagle companion of 13 years. He wanted a new companion. Luckily John found Hudson (or Hudson found John). It was a wonderful match. Hudson reported in regularly, and we share his "Chronicles" on this page.

Hudson's Chronicles - July, 2013 Good morning from Marion Indiana. It's been way too long since the last update and I apologize for that. I'll be the first one to blame John. I've had all the information, he just hasn't typed it up and sent it in. It's hard to find good help these days. At least that's what I keep hearing you people say.

Anyway, things have been working out well for us, John that is, with the new company he is leased on with. We have been keeping pretty busy John seems to be getting some money built back up. This winter was when he really felt the effects of that major repair last August. Me, I felt nothing.

We have been staying on the east coast, for the most part. John seems to be anxious to get out west and stretch his legs.I say he could stretch his legs plenty if he took me on longer walks!

Last month, we had a equipment trailer to pick up in Minnesota that was going to Vermont. John has a friend that called and asked if we could pick up a mower for his tractor that was in Michigan. When we got there, we found out the mower wasn't there. It appears that the dealer had a local customer that needed it, and sold it "again". (probably for a lot more money) Not only did this leave us in a bad spot, but John's friend was depending mower so he could start cutting hay the following Monday! guess that's what happens when someone values money more that his word!

The upside to this was that got to spend the weekend helping John's brother move into a smaller house Across town. All the kids graduated college and moved on, so it's just Dave and Perry.

After the weekend of moving, John got a call from a customer that had some sign posts in Buffalo. That worked out perfectly with the equipment trailer. So, "we shuffled off to Buffalo" to quote the late Lowell George.

John got lost trying to find the place. the directions were vague and he was close. He was on the wrong street and decided to turn around. He made a left turn and was going to make another left and go un the block. There was a low bridge in front of us, so he made a right turn and another left turn only to find another low bridge! We were able to back up into the intersection, get turned around and finally found where we were supposed to load. After all that, it was a smooth ride home.

John has had some social engagements to attend this summer. One of his good friends son was getting married up in Rangeley Maine. It was a beautiful event right on the lake, from what I was told. I can't believe I wasn't invited. They're dog lovers! I guess the bride didn't want to be upstaged. I understand.

We also had the last graduation to attend down in Virginia. John's niece Christine, graduated from high school. She is the ninth, and last to graduate. John has been able to attend all nine graduations. He's hoping they will all remember this, when he is old and drooling all over himself.

Hudson's Chronicles - July, 2013The last few weeks, we've been home getting caught up on lot's of stuff that John as been putting off. Lot's of maintenance on the truck as well as maintenance on us. He had an eye exam and a dental exam, and I had my annual check-up along with shots. While I was there, they found a bad tooth so John signed me up for a cleaning and extraction, Whoopee! While I was under, they poked around my tumor and all is looking good there, for the time being. They even took pictures of my teeth, before and after. I will have John attach them so you can be grossed out like we were. (They aren't that bad)

That about covers it for now.
