Hey there, wanna play? I like lots of fun stuff. In addition to my flat furry animals that squeak, I enjoy rope toys and duck rawhide bones. Oh, yeah, and socks! Of course, I really, really love to run outside. Do I sound like the perfect canine partner for you? I just might be. My name is Dilly, and I am very eager to find a home of my very own.
I started out pretty shy and skittish. Although I'm not completely past that, I've been feeling more confident, which has allowed me to be more outgoing and able to express my affection for my humans. I'm not saying that I'm the bravest beagle in the bunch, as I still get so startled by loud, unexpected noises and quick movements. But I am proud of myself for dealing with it better and allowing myself to be curious about things instead of frightened.
While I am generally pretty chill, I do enjoy breaking out in the song of my people in the morning. Arooo, arooo, good morning, everyone! I don't like to brag, but my foster parents said that I have very good manners, and they're very pleased that I walk nicely on my leash. I like to be a good boy for my people.
Sometimes we go for rides in the car. I like short car rides, although I do tend to get just a little nervous. But all in all, I do quite well in the car.
While I enjoy playing and lots of excitement, I know when I need a break from all that. I will curl up in a corner and quietly decompress. I just need my quiet time once in a while. Don't you?
Did I mention I love food? If not, I LOVE food. My absolute favorite is cheese. Yum, yum, yum. I will literally do anything for cheese. Hope you keep a good supply on hand. If you have cheese and need a beagle buddy, please consider adopting me. I think we will be very happy together.
