Along with being a rescue group B.O.N.E.S. is also an education and referral service. Our goal is to help rehome beagles in need. This sometimes presents itself with beagles that show up in shelters as strays or owner turn-ins, direct relinquishments to rescue or through our referral service. On this page we will provide potential adopters with information on beagles that are not under our care, in shelters or who remain with their current owners until a suitable home is found. B.O.N.E.S. cannot attest to the temperament or health of these dogs. Below you will find information on dogs that are available through referral,

Hunter

1-2 year old Neutered male

Hunter is a super sweet Beagle boy.  He is a little shy at first but warms up quickly.  Found as a stray we do not have any back ground on Hunter.  What we do know is he loves to play, go for long walks and be showered with affection. Hunter is a true nose to the ground Beagle he does not want to miss anything.  Hunter likes to be top dog so he may do best as an only pet and with older children.  Hunter would thrive in an obedience class and has proven to be a quick study already.  He is very food motivated like most Beagles.  With a little TLC and structure, Hunter will make a wonderful family pet and loving companion.

If you are interested in Hunter please contact the Friends of Falmouth Dogs shelter.
Rebel is the 2nd half of a pair who needs your help! He was until recently living in foster care with a Springer Mix he loved dearly for over 10 years. His partner has recently passed away. Rebel is an 11 year old, male tri colored Beagle mix. They had both have spent most of their lives as outdoor dogs, but since coming into Foster Care have been housebroken and enjoying the good life indoors. Rebel still slips now and then but is doing better. He is wonderful with cats, children and other adults. As a senior, he sleeps a lot but also enjoy walks and the outside when you go out with him. He has been enjoying their foster Mom's fenced in area but he is very good on a leash and minds well when you call him to you. He would be a great family dog, and has had some training.

This is Buddy. He is 7 yrs old, male neutered and up to date with vaccinations until 05/2008. He is housebroken and walks well on leash. He passed his evaluations here at the shelter, but does  not do well with other dogs. He needs to be the only dog in his new home. We have had him at the shelter since June and he really needs to find a forever home. He came from this shelter originally, and was returned because the family didn't have enough time for him anymore.   If you have further questions or would like to come visit Buddy, contact Arianna at the Humane Society South Coast in North Dartmouth, MA  at 508 995-6661. Shelter hours are 12pm-5 pm Monday through Saturday.
