She is a wondful happy girl who loves everyone she meets. Sadly, Addie's physical showed her to have a serious (grade 5 of 6) heart murmur. This condition will cause congestive heart failure. We don't think that precludes Addie from getting adopted, she is just a special dog that needs a special home. Addie is housebroken, spayed, and has received her vaccinations. She has also tested negative for heartworm and been placed on prevention.

Addie is a very loving soul who loves people and would be okay with another dog. This girl is absolutely joyful at the sight of a leash, and typical of Beagles, loves to sniff around. p>
8/03/11 UPDATE: Addie has had her cardiac ultrasound and a chest x-ray which shows marked mitral regurgitati with mild left ventricular dilation. As she has no fluid buildup and no real symptoms, the vets have not recommended place her on any medication at this time. The vet's recommendation is that Addie receive periodic chest x-rays (every - 12 months) to monitor for any fluid buildup, at which time she would be placed on an appropriate medication. These dicines are normally very inexpensive. A potential adopter should educate themselves regarding signs of cardiac congeson in order to monitor Addie's health condition and seek treatment if symptoms present.

Addie is starting a diet she is overweight and should receive only mild exercise and short leash walks. Addie disagrees with both of these pla! This is a wonderfully happy dog who just needs to find the right home. A quiet home would probably be best, and a ca doggie companion is a possibility. Addie's behavior in the kitty room showed her to be interested, but with no signs aggression.

Will someone out there give our girl Addie the retirement home she deserves? You will get a loving a devoted companion in return.

<img src="beagleselsewhere/mcgruff2.jpg" width="23 height="178">

Looking for a beagle that adores being outside and romping with other playful dogs?
