Dixie was found as a stray.  She was scared and very unsure at the shelter and hesitated to have contact with humans.  Once in foster care, we found Dixie to be a very loving, sweet, affectionate girl.  Dixie seems to be a girl who picks a person in her house as "her own" - although cordial to others, she certainly is a steadfast companion to her "person".  Her foster home has worked hard on making her a well adjusted girl, who is now house trained and crate trained. However, this little lemon and white cutie is looking for a very special home. Dixie can be very prey driven, so she should not be in a home with cats.  She is also still quite a shy girl in new situations - so no children under 12 that may scare her.  Dixie is looking for a dog experienced owner that understands her set of circumstances and be willing to continue to work through them.  With that - she will shine in her new home as she has in her foster home!
